Glenn Matsumoto
Glenn Tatsuki Matsumoto, of Captain Cook, died on Dec. 28, 2019, in Kailua-Kona Born April 1, 1930, in Honaunau, he served our country in the Army and worked as head custodian and bus driver for the State of Hawaii.

He is survived by spouse, Ann Matsumoto; sons, Bishop Eric (Tamayo) Matsumoto of Honolulu; Alan Matsumoto of Captain Cook; brother, Akikazu (Suemi) Matsumoto of Kaneohe; sisters, Tomie Honda of Captain Cook; Satsuye Tanaka of Honolulu; Toyoko Urada of Captain Cook; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephew in Hawaii and Japan.

Edward Costa
Edward Costa, 92, of Kohala, died Dec. 12, 2019, in Honokaa. Born Nov. 15, 1927, in Kohala, he was a retired steward from the former Royal Waikoloan, former worker in the Kohala macadamia nut and sugar industry and member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Friends may call between 6-8 p.m. Jan. 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi for a wake. Friends may again call at 8:00 a.m. Jan. 11 at the church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial at Halawa Catholic Cemetery with lunch to follow at the Saint Damien Hall. Family requests casual/aloha attire be worn and flowers are welcome.
He is survived by wife, Sylvia Costa of Kohala; son, Edward (Brenda) Costa of Waimea; daughter, Angela (Keone) Emeliano of Kohala; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Ivy Kusumoto
Ivy Miyoko Kusumoto, 94, of Hilo, died Nov. 25, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was the owner and teacher at the former Ivy Family Day Care Center and a member of the Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission.
Private services held. In lieu of flowers and koden, donations may be made in memory of Ivy Miyoko Kusumoto to “A Dream Come True” at 82A Kekela St., Hilo, HI 96720.
She is survived by daughter, Lynn Otsubo of Hilo; grandson, Robert Otsubo of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Rose Nakamura of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.

Tomiko Morifuji
Tomiko Morifuji, 87, of Waimea, died Dec. 8, 2019, at home. Born Feb 15, 1932, in Sasebo, Japan, she was retired from Kamuela Liquor Store and a member of Kamuela Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Buddhist Women’s Association and Waimea Senior Citizens.
Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 11 at Kamuela Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Church Row, for a 10:30 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by son, Steve (Dana) Morifuji of Honokaa; daughters, Jasmine (Bill) Schell of California, Toni (Peter) Jose of Kalopa, Selene (Patrick) Kim of Kona, Suzette (James) Cantyne of Waimea; sister, Nobuko (Shigetoshi) Yamasaki of Sasebo, Japan; sisters-in-law, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.
